Fleamarket 2

Ladies and gentlemen: this is a treat. Because on this picture you can see Mrs Zimbob who really is not very keen on being published. But since she is rather incognito, I think I can get away with it.
A double treat because for the stalkers amongst you Zimbobfans, this was taken in front of my house. So if you put two and two together... Mind you, I won't open my door after nine pm.
And since we're being generous: lets have a competition here. Inspired again by Occam the almighty. If you can guess which two items of this pile of junk we got rid of... I will write you a poem.
I can sense you've already started scrutinizing this here pic. Good luck to you.

First of all: you let me move all that junk into your new house, and now you're selling it on a flea-market? I'll be damned! ;-)

The two chinese balls? Or do they count as one item? In that case, you got rid of the bread-tin as well. That's my guess.

I say nothing for I know you are the Buffalo Bill of guessers: wild and crazy. Only this...

nope.

I know I'm right! A poem, by jove!

Ik denk dat die zwarte hoop fluffigheid een boa is.

Ik ga dan voor het Teigetje en de muiltjes rechts van de laarzen.

een boa, juist! ik kon niet op het woord komen...

there, there children... The reason for setting up a new English blog is to speak to a much broader audience, so forgive me for not answering in Dutch.
Next time I'll make it a bit more difficult because, you see... we have a winner! Congratulations to Occy the bookhugger from Evermore for having guessed correctly with his first go. Indeed we sold the dress (which Kathleen also mentioned) and the boa thing. Woohoo. I myself forgot about the boa thing, so this means that there is still one item in the pic that can give you a bonus. Nevertheless: one poem coming up dedicated to our much respected bibliophile O. But give me some time: I have to finish a bottle of absynth first.

Oh and just for the record: I don't and won't sell any Stephen Kings nor would I ever come close to reading Tad -Shmad- Williams. Even I have my 'boundaries'.

I know for a fact you can't let Kathleen write in English, she's too incesure about her English for that, so you'll need to forgive her.

@ Occy: well done!

for the bonus: the bike?

I stand a-gloating!

As for the extra object: the brown round thing next to the chinese round thingies?

And this is agonizing: I really thought I recognized the books as being TW's. Please tell me what they are then, I won't sleep if I don't know, and enlarging the pic just makes me woozy.

I hardly dare say that the books are three parts of the Clan of the Cavebear cycle. One of the worst things I've ever read, and I've read them all. fffff the young and ignorant.

And it's not the books that were sold, nor the round brown thing which you refer to so eloquently. ('t is a lamp).

Ouch, Auel...

The videos then?

lebbercherrie said...

My mom tried in vain to get me to read that Auel womens typework. Instinctive allergic reaction was the result.

Zimbob said...

Videos it is! Three times the winner, Occy. It's a Start Trek saga about 'seven of nine'.

Haven't forgotten about the poem but give me some time. The artist has a lot of work...
You will see it here on this site.

I stand in awe of myself! And somewhat surprised that anyone actually still buys videos in this day and age...

lebbercherrie said...

It is in Ghent, you know. DVD is there still regarded as state of the art advanced military stuff.

Occy said...

At least we think of it as something the army might use, whereas the closest you guys get is: u.f.o.

Zimbob said...

Narf!

lebbercherrie said...

We use it as toilet paper! If and when we use toilet paper, of course...

Occy said...

Of course ...

A horse is a horse of course, even when the horse is off course.

Occy said...

is this the poem I'm supposed to get?

lebbercherrie said...

Ai dunno, El Zimbob is probably mentally preparing himself to take a pen and piece of paper. Lord knows it can take a while an several ice-cold cans of beer. Which reminds me, long time no see Zimbob. The works on my house are going fine, so perhaps when the dust has settled, we can organise a small get together? Something between the annual burning of the witch and Ozzfest?

Will do but right now am awfully busy rounding off the school year. Preparing exams for the youngsters, going from the one monstermeeting to the other etc. Gimme some time.
The poem, Occy, is almost finished, but I'm a but stuck with the ending. Once I've overcome that, ye will be able to enjoy it; for I'm sure you will.

hear ye, hear ye!

Alright, we'll be a-waiting untill you get your butt unstuck... (i know, i know ...)
