I remember taking this picture. My gran asked me why on earth I wanted to take a picture of that?
I know the contrast isn't all that good, and I can't do much more in photoshop to try and enhance it. Besides it's all the fault of my crappy camera.
Nevertheless I still like the pic. For the same reason I took it back then. It spoke to me.
Place of crime: Barking, Essex, UK, close to my grandad's house.

Crumb said that he liked to draw electricity cables because they were so ugly. Also because they are everywhere on the street and you can't draw a scene on the street without all those cables and switchboxes and what have you. He said because you can't make up such ugliness, he had to sketch and draw them for when he needed them in other work.
Just 'cause I know you love Crumb.
I think it's a nice photo. But I would have never thought it was the UK. Thought it was Ostend. (Style of building in the lefthand corner)
Terraced houses. Typically British.
Also if you find electric cables like this anywhere in Belgium, give me a call. I was gobsmacked when I saw this. One pole for the whole street.
Indeed you are right about Crumb. I've read the same thing, and have already noticed it in his work.
Nice to see you're enjoying my photoblog man.
Well, Ostend is half British. I once saw a pole in the middle of the road once. Other people say it wasn't in the middle of the road, but I could have sworn it jumped right in front of me.
In front of you or your car? How's the backfracture?
Nice pic indeed.
Btw, Lebber already found out - how I'm not sure - but I stole your idea and got my own photoblog. I feel real bad 'bout imitating you, but then again I can still remember the day you cut your hair short ...
link should be www.occamsrazorlibrary.org
I am the internetmaster. No, by accident I came upon it. I was checking your links, and tadaa!
It was just some cuts and bruises as I was on bike, but this is back in the nineties.
What's my hair got to do with this? You strange strange bookhugger you.
I checked out your photoblog and love it. No need to feel bad cos I don't see it as stealing a good idea. I see it as appreciating it. We should all have one.
Photography is a means of expressing oneself and I did not invent it, did I?
Although I do feel like Nicephore Niepce every 6th pint of lager.
P.S. links changed.
Damn, what a name to know by heart... I had to look it up before I even had the faintest clue as to what you were referring to. Show just what sort of a hobbyist I am, I guess.
You forget that I am a licensed photographer...
And a renowned pubvisitor.
Then shouldn't there be pictures of pub floors and your hands, so we can share the view as you crawl out of the pub?
Never crawling, always being dragged out.
Sometimes twice a night. But then only if someone insults the artistic importance of Dr Who. How on earth can you photograph your hands and the floor when you're crawling? With some sort of bionic eye, perhaps?
